This book is about surviving and overcoming.
There are millions of survivors, but few overcomers.

I was once a victim, fearing and hating my abusive father who almost murdered my mother. I understand the feelings of terror, anger, and the desire for revenge. At the age of 14, I planned to shoot my father—but a miracle happened.

Statistically, I should be a bitter, self-pitying woman, blaming others and circumstances for life's pain. But I'm not. I live a dynamic and joyful life.

After speaking to women's groups for over two decades, I concluded that few victims are able to forgive, let go of their hurts, and emerge better, as I did. Why? They don't know how. The chains of my past shattered and I was freed once I became accountable to God for my thoughts and actions.
